welcome

I love the outdoors and making gardens. I feel very strongly that plants can transform a space in a way that nothing else can. I discovered gardening in my teens—while friends looked for boys, I cruised gardens and parks. For the last 15 years, I have pursued my passion working in the public sector of horticulture. Creating gardens on vacant lots, beautifying urban downtowns, and educating the public about disappearing native plants and habitats.

Since the arrival of my son, I am mostly a freelance producer, writer and contributor to organizations. I am selective about the projects I commit to, I want to do my best and that only happens when I genuinely enjoy the work. Thankfully, this approach has given me a varied and interesting career.
